Global G.A.P. : the certificate that certifies good agricultural practices
The quality of the baby leaf salads we produce is based on our respect for the land and farmers. Find out more about Global G.A.P. certification and why we requested it.
The Global G.A.P. certification is a certification that is requested by agricultural farms on a voluntary basis and concerns the production process of baby leaf salads.
According to the protocols foreseen by the Global G.A.P. Association, the international certification association, the production of baby leaf salads must be carried out respecting the safety of workers, minimising the environmental impact of the production processes and avoiding the use of chemical substances during the cultivation and the handling of the baby leaf salads.
In our opinion, certifying our respect for the land and farmers is a mandatory prerequisite for ensuring sustainable production to our customers. This is why all the 19 OP Isola Verde group companies have obtained the Global G.A.P. certification and guarantee customers and final consumers full compliance with good agricultural practices in the production of each salad leaf.
Global GAP Plus
Once producers have obtained Global G.A.P. certification, they can integrate it with specific add-ons.
The Global G.A.P.+ certification deserves a special mention and is required by all Mc Donald’s restaurant chain suppliers.
Global G.A.P.+ certification pays particular attention to the aspects of food safety and the microbiological profile of the product and the water used to irrigate it, which, for example, must be checked every 15 days.
A commitment we undertake in favour of our collaborators
Having obtained the Global G.A.P. certifications is a guarantee for our customers, but it is also a way to demonstrate our commitment in favour of our workers and the environment.
These certifications are not required by law, but are a prerequisite for serving certain customers and all our OP group companies are GlobalGAP certified.
