Our growing awareness of agricultural sustainability has led us to want to demonstrate our commitment to the environment and quality in a clear and concise manner.

Leaf certification, a standard appreciated especially on the UK market, is one of the many certifications we have obtained to demonstrate our commitment in terms of environmental protection. Let’s find out more about it and the guarantees it offers to our customers.

Leaf Marque is a quality standard developed by the Linking Environment and Farming (LEAF) organisation, a non-profit association that aims to promote sustainable farming practises.

This certification extends to a wide range of agricultural products, including the baby leaf salads we produce in our greenhouses, and its main objective is to ensure compliance with superior environmental, social and economic sustainability standards.

In fact, in order to obtain this certification, we had to demonstrate that we meet and comply with the strictest requirements relating to water management, the conservation of biodiversity, waste disposal and the welfare of the agricultural workers who collaborate with us.

Moreover, the leaf certification extends to 9 different areas of application, each referring to the key cornerstones of all farms and agricultural enterprises. In addition to complying with each standard envisaged by the individual sections, in order to obtain this certification, it is necessary to put in place an interconnected and integrated management system, so that the entire supply chain is sustainable and complies with the parameters defined by the certification itself.

Obtaining Leaf Marque certification is not mandatory for baby leaf salad producers. However, our company decided to comply with the standards and to obtain this certification on a voluntary basis, as we believe that environmental sustainability and social responsibility are two essential core values of our production.

As a farm, in fact, we believe that it is our duty to minimise environmental impact and promote sustainable farming practises that bestow a future to new generations.

Furthermore, obtaining Leaf certification has allowed us to maintain a transparent relationship with our customers and provide them with the assurance that our baby leaf salads have been cultivated responsibly.

This means that the Leaf Marque certification also acts as a form of confirmation of our concrete commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, and provides an opportunity for customers to make a conscious choice for the future
