19 facilities, one single philosophy: the Op Isola Verde values

OP Isola Verde was officially established in 2014, when 8 farms joined forces to create a consortium aimed at supporting each other in a variety of activities.

Today it has 19 affiliated farming members, but the principles that are the cornerstones of this group have not changed, on the contrary, they have been enhanced over time, marking the success of all the member enterprises.

Compared to a single company, producer consortiums are a cut above the rest when operating on the market, as together we can

• collaborate in order to maintain high standards of product quality and goodness,
• guarantee constant production for the Italian and European markets.

It is no secret that the agricultural sector is subject to external factors that can radically change its course, but together we can overcome such obstacles, let’s stop thinking about the weather!

Climate change is a sticking point for agricultural production, especially in the Bergamo area, where, in addition to the harsh winters, we have also recently had to deal with dry and torrid summers.

Discussing such issues with each other, we finally managed to find a solution together: we have installed weather monitoring units which we use to gather data that, year by year, enable us to anticipate and manage criticalities. In addition, we divide our productions among the production sites in the North and South of Italy, to ensure our customers consistently fresh produce.

In addition to the continuous exchange of knowledge, the OP Isola Verde affiliated companies also share the need to ensure a safe and controlled production standard for customers.

Every phase of the production cycle of the baby leaf salads produced by the OP Isola Verde affiliates is analysed and monitored, from soil analysis, to the meticulous selection of seeds, from field controls to weeding, from manual selection of the product to its packaging.

This guarantees all our customers baby leaf salads that comply with the main international safety standards, and has allowed us to obtain 12 certifications for product safety, traceability, respect of good farming practices and organic farming methods.

No single enterprise would have the power to invest in technology, variety research and quality at these levels.

For a producer consortium, however, every effort is shared, weighing less on each enterprise, and allowing us to achieve significantly stronger commercial performance and continuous growth.
