Winter baby leaf salads: our production

Also known as “songino“, lamb’s lettuce has small, tender leaves with a slightly sweet taste. It is ideal for winter salads because it grows much better during the colder seasons but, with a little extra care and attention, it can also be grown throughout the summer.

Wild rocket is known for its spicy flavour, dark-coloured leaves and slim, jagged silhouette. Thanks to the mild winter temperatures of the Sele plain, it is possible to grow rocket all year round, to bring taste and goodness to the table even in the winter months.

Baby spinach is a baby leaf salad rich in iron and antioxidants. It too tolerates the cold weather well and it can be grown at our farms located in the province of Salerno all year round, to give you the energy needed to face the winter with tasty and wholesome dishes.

Although these varieties of baby leaf salad grow better in the winter months, at OP Isola Verde we are able to guarantee our customers consistent supplies throughout the year, regardless of whether a specific baby leaf salad is typically grown in the hotter or colder months.
