Our experience at Fruit Attraction 2021

We just got back from Fruit Attraction 2021. Read our experience and find out what impressed us most about the international agricultural trade fair

From October 5 – 7 we were in Madrid as exhibitors at Fruit Attraction 2021, the first agricultural trade fair after almost two years behind closed doors, as well as our first opportunity to present the OP Isola Verde products in such an exclusive context.

Although the fair was only open for 3 days, this event exceeded our expectations, both from a commercial and human standpoint. First of all, we finally met up with our long-established customers face to face again, after over a year of telephone and video conference calls.

Fruit Attraction was a unique opportunity to consolidate business relationships, but also to chat about the current situation in the baby leaf salad market and to discuss the new developments in the sector.

The web has certainly been of help during the pandemic, but meeting someone face to face is something else.

Seeing each other, being able to talk to all our customers who visited us in person, was really rewarding and important to us.

For example, it has enabled us to solve some long-standing problems, and swiftly find a solution; it also gave us the opportunity to consolidate both our business and personal relationships with our buyers.

The position of our stand also gave us great visibility and the chance to meet potential customers from all over Europe. Over 95,000 people from 140 different countries attended the trade fair, and in just three days we met or were introduced for the first time the sales staff of enterprises in Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Scandinavia, Sweden, Denmark and even Spain; some companies were long-standing customers, others were new entries and very interesting for us.

Finally, by attending the trade-fair in person, we were able to visit the stands of other exhibitors and meet both new partners and potential suppliers, such as the manufacturers of food packaging, soil processing equipment, and baby leaf salad harvesting and sorting equipment.

I spent the third day of the fair visiting the various halls and was pleasantly surprised by the other exhibitors. There were some of our competitors, packaging manufacturers, seed suppliers, companies specialised in the design of technical materials and innovative machinery.

For me, it was an excellent opportunity to meet and discuss technical aspects, to embrace new ideas that I look forward to sharing with my colleagues and implementing in our growing facilities.”

Fruit Attraction was an intense adventure that gave us a global view of the current agricultural market. We returned to Italy with a profound desire to improve and grow and, even if only a few days have passed, we have already taken steps to ensure we make the most of what we learned in Madrid, with the hope of being able to return in 2022 to enjoy another gratifying experience.
