Packaging solutions available
Our plant facilities prepare baby leaf salads for shipping with 3 different types of packaging. The choice of the specific packing to be used is shared with customers based on their distribution requirements. The most common packing options are as follows:
Baby leaf salads bulk in crates
Once picked and inspected, baby leaf salads can be supplied bulk in monovarietal crates or plurivarietal crates. The crates are made of food-grade plastic material and are differentiated by organic farmed produce and integrated farmed produce.
Baby leaf salads on trays
After passing quality control, the monovarietal and mixed baby leaf salads can be packaged in individual bags using the flowpack technique. Each tray contains a defined amount of baby leaf salad and is the optimal solution for the LSD sector, since each tray ready to be placed on the shelves of any POS.
Baby leaf salads in bags
Another type of packaging required by the LSD sector is food-grade film bags. As seen for the tray packaging, also in this case the baby leaf salads and baby leaf mixes are weighed and packed in individual bags, ready to be distributed both in Italy and abroad.
Customised packaging
The food-grade film used for trays or bags can be customised: names, logos, and nutritional information make packaging more appealing, help our customers promote their brand on the market, and make it easier for consumers to choose one baby leaf salad over another.
Delivery options
The batches of crates, trays or bags containing the OP Isola Verde baby leaf salads can be collected by customers at our plant facilities or delivered directly to their premises.
If we organise the shipments, we use cold trucks that respect the cold chain and keep the baby leaf salads at a constant temperature of +4/+6°. This guarantees correct preservation and therefore an optimal shelf life.
